Welcome to the Wezenberg Research Group

The research in our group is directed towards the development of stimuli-responsive artificial molecular receptors and transporters as well as self-assembled materials with adaptive properties. To this purpose, a highly interdisciplinary approach is taken, which combines various aspects of synthetic and physical-organic chemistry, coordination chemistry, photochemistry, and supramolecular chemistry.

A major part of our research program involves controlling anion binding and transport and is aimed at finding new pharmacotherapeutic agents. We are also interested in creating information-rich building blocks for the self-assembly of higher-order architectures with switchable function. Please visit the research page for more information on our ongoing projects.

We are based at the Stratingh Institute for Chemistry, University of Groningen.
